The USI College of Arts, Sciences, Teacher Education, Social Work, Human Services, and Music (CASTEDSWHSM) officially welcomed its students through a series of general assemblies, beginning with the CASTEDSWHSM General Assembly 2026 held on August 5 under the theme, "Stronger Together: Empowering Every CASTEDSWHSM Student."

The department-wide assembly introduced students to the College's vision, academic programs, and support services through informative presentations. Students also got the chance to meet our dedicated department faculty and staff, fostering a stronger sense of community as they embark on a new academic year.

Continuing the College's welcoming activities on August 6, the USI Arts and Sciences Student Association (ASSA) held “kASSAma, Ano Tara?: AS General Assembly” at the Blessed Frederick Ozanam Social Hall,

while the USI Teacher Education Program conducted “LAKBAY: Teacher Education Orientation Seminar” at AVR A

These assemblies allowed students to engage with their respective academic communities through orientations, discussions, and messages from Anna Marie T. Ensano, MA-Math, Chairperson of the Teacher Education Program; and Maria Cristina P. Bustamante, PhD, Dean of CASTEDSWHSM.

Together, these assemblies reflect the department’s commitment to building a connected, informed, and empowered student community—ensuring that every student begins the academic year equipped with the knowledge, support, and sense of belonging needed to thrive in their chosen field and uphold the ideals of Vincentian excellence.
